T-fal's new high-speed kettle employs 1,750 watts of electric power to bring 1 cup of cold water to a rolling boil in one minute. With the kettle filled to its 7-cup capacity, a full boil is achieved in five minutes. That makes the kettle ideal for instant coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or instant soups. To ensure that the water doesn't boil away if attention is diverted, the kettle shuts off automatically once the water reaches full boil. For convenience, it lifts off its corded power base for cordless pouring, can be set on the power base in any direction, and turns on (or off) with a simple push of a button on the handle. The product works great, but the water is undrinkable. The smell and taste of the water is of strong plastic. I'm scared to think what chemicals leached into the water to give off an odor and taste like this. I'm returning this product. I washed the kettle, I used it for over a week, but the smell remains.

I've been using this kettle for 6 months and I really like it! It's great for setting up the night before. Push the button and in less than 3 minutes I have water for 2 large cups of hot beverage. The best part is the temperature control dial. I cannot conceive how anyone can drink coffee at the temp it is served at in restaurants. Ouch! I use this on the lowest setting and it's still hot enough to put in liquid creamer and be perfect drinking temp. If you're taking it to go, you just turn it up. I read a complaint about the hinge. I guess I wouldn't have noticed as I have simply filled it through the spout this whole time. It stays cool on the outside and I got an additional one for my 87 yr old mother in law as it's so easy to handle and requires no stove usage. (other caregivers will understand)

The only, and I mean only, reason it didn't get 5 stars is because I wish the water didn't heat in plastic. (to be fair I did call TFal and there aren't any of the "bad" plastics in it, but...) I'd rather it was lined in stainless steel rather than just on the bottom. I imagine it is not because it would make it hard to control the heated temperature, with metal holding heat so much more. More metal, more heat, less control. As a second choice, I'd be happy if it were lined in tempered glass, like pyrex or the like. But, other than that, really it's a terrific little kettle!

We used this kettle for making everyday green/black tea, and occasional coffee.



Unfortunately, after 3 months of use, the water coming out of this kettle stinks of melted plastic and has a bit of a chemical aftertaste. I emailed T-FAL numerous times, with no response. Do not make the same mistake we did, if you intend to actually drink this water and taste/smell matters to you at all.



The strong points of this kettle is that it looks good, has water temperature control, and boils the water really fast. Excellent price too!

I love the new pans I received. The glass lids with vents are perfect to check on how everthing is cooking. The handles are so easy to grip and the handles on the pans are comfortable to lift when the pot is heavy. They are a breeze to clean, just nothing sticks to them. They are all perfect sizes for every day cooking. I can't find anything wrong with them and I am sure they will last for many years. The quality is exceptional.

Although very well built of quality materials, the shape of the handle left a lot to be desired. It was so narrow that it felt as if I had little "control" of the pan once in my hand.



And I found that I prefer my saucepan having a 4 1/2 qt capacity instead of just 4 qts.

Beautiful and light weight. My only surprise was the size. It's 1.5 quarts right to the top. 'My' other smaller pans seem to have an extra half quart I've gotten use to having for boiling room. This line seems to be fantastic at conducting heat. I've got a large dutch oven from the same line. I scorched it pretty good the first time I used it. With steel wool and a lot of elbow grease it didn't look too bad. Two or three uses and washings later it looked brand new! So I now use lower cooking temps and have NO problems.

Consider the sizing and cooking tempertures and you can't go wrong.

For some reason, this particular size pot in the set has a tendancy to flake the stainless on the bottom...Amazon replaced with not problem, but after 3 uses, wife noticed it is starting to do the same thing..keep an eye out for this ..otherwise it is a very convenient and mostly used size.....

I would recomment the Cuisinart Chef's Classic Nonstick Hard-Anodized 4-Quart Saucepan. My purchase is very recent, so I would say so far it has been very helpful for all my cooking. However the bottom sticks sometimes if the Saucepan is placed on very high heat. The food cooks evenly and well.The Lid does not get heated up which is an added advantage and makes it convenient to handle the saucepan when its on high heat.

The heat conduction is very even and fast in the pan/base itself. The see-through lid is great. The lid gets hand-scorchingly hot, and the pan handle can occasionally get warm/hot too. There is no vent hole for the lid so it will start to bounce around if you don't monitor the cooking. Handle with care, and a hot pad, and it's a great pan, especially considering the price and also that it seems somewhat difficult to find 4 qt nonstick sauce pans...

I needed a new small saucepan and didn't want to spend a bundle. I bought this in the 1.5 qt size, and I have to say it is an amazing value. Highlights:

- The nonstick coating is effective and seems durable. Sticky sauces like bechamel just come right off.

- Heat retention is mediocre-to-poor (standard with aluminum) and the size is too small for effective searing, but those were limitations I was aware of before purchasing.

- No noticeable hotspots.

- Due to small size, positioning over the burner is important to keep the handle cool. When properly on the stove, handle stays adequately cool, but just a an inch or two in the wrong direction and you can get a very hot handle.

- Fit and finish are top notch in this price range.

- Lid works well for heat retention, glass can be nice to peek in on your food.

It's no All-Clad or Mauviel, but it's a really good saucepan for the price.
